Starting today

Signed up for R4L on 25th June. Would really like to run it. Am c4 stone overweight - having already lost one stone on Slimming World. Dodgy knees and in my late 50s, so a little worries as to whether this is sensible. Still am about to give it a go. Wish me luck.

Hi and welcome. :) You can totally do this... and well done for starting:)

Lots of advice, support and encouragement here, so keep posting :).

Main thing is, steady and slow.. and then slower still :) Listen to your body, which will protest at first, that is expected :) Then, carry on slowly with each run; take your rest days and try a bit of exercise on those days too... swimming or yoga or walking maybe?

The NHS linked Strength and Flex are useful too and many of us used them with the programme:)

I am just off out now for my run, so will be rooting for you ! Go for it... and post your run ?
