Program complete!

Did the final run of week 9 this morning! Not quite 5k, more like 4K, and the last km always seems to be uphill in the scorching sun for me, but still, i feel great! What a brilliant program, and what a great forum! I started 9 weeks ago totally and completely out of shape and overweight. Still overweight just the same, but somehow much leaner, and certainly much fitter. Am a bit panicked as to what to do next though, the structure suited me well...

Excellent! Great running 😃 I love your badge! 🏅

C25k+ Stepping Stones podcasts are your natural next step. They follow the same system and uoungrt good old Laura doing the voice over. Stepping Stones, stamina and Speed, three separate podcasts to improve your running. They are a challenge, for which you're now ready. Get them off pat and you will see an improvement in your running

Go carefully though! Take your time 🙂

Have fun!

Thank you miss wobble (love your name!). I had to read your post a few times because my silly brain kept reading 'you're not ready' instead of 'you're now ready'. I guess I still need to get used to the fact that I am a runner now lol.

Congratulations aviv😊🎉🎉🎉🎉

You are now a Graduate. You did it!

I consolidated the 30 min runs for a while (with my own music ) then did the c25k+ podcasts with Laura (structure and fun )

Enjoy your running😊x

Thanks! I think I will do exactly that. I will need to figure out the music though, any tricks there?

I just made a playlist up onto my mp3 of songs I liked that had the right sort of beat to run to. I just use my phone to record my runs on Strava so I can see how far I run.

Happy running.x

Well done! Can't wait to get there myself- but am only 1 week in

You going for 10k next??

aviv17 profile image

You will get there sooner than you think! The weeks just fly by - stick with the program, go slow, and you will become a runner.

10k? Perhaps in the future. It's very tempting but it's too much of a time commitment for me right now. However, I do intend to continue running 3 times a week, and perhaps improve my pace so I can make 5k in 30 min or so...

Stepping stones has its's own music to suit what you are being asked to do. It's a tad weird but it works 🙂

Don't delay

start today 😀🏃‍♀️

Sounds good. So you started stepping stone right after graduation? No consolidating your 30 min and all that?

I signed up for a 5k early on in the program so I would have to carry on running. I was a bit lost when I graduated & tried the Stepping Stones podcast; it didn't suit me, so I carried on running 3 times a week for 30 minutes, or for as long as I could nearest to 30 minutes. I have done a bit of hill running (hard) change routes, am a Parkrun addict & have joined a local social running group. There are lots of options, but just keep running & enjoying it :)

Well done on graduating too :D :D

Nope, straight onto SS. They are tricky, make no mistake but they are good for your legs. Gets them guessing!

Can I do them with hills? Nothing flat around here. Maybe 1km stretch.

Thank you all! - its great to hear about other's experiences. I guess I will have to try some of the options and see what's best for me. My current route has hills, there really is no way to avoid them where I am, so if I decide to do the stepping stone its going to be extra tricky. Maybe once a week I can try and drive somewhere flat? I will report back soon with an update :-)
