Feeling better about my fitness!

Hi, I'm new to this site, I'm 54 , 55 in Oct this year, my time on Mon just gone, for 5k was 30 mins 55 secs. Year b4 last I did it in under 29, I had to stop running for a bit,so I'm trying to build up my fitness again.

That's a great time, especially after a break! Well done! I'll be 58 in October, also restarting after a break but a lot slower than that!

Slow is very , very good... as you will find out, the mantra on this C25K programme is slow and steady :) Keep posting :)

Amazing time. I'll be 55 in a couple of weeks and my best so far is 35:11. You're an inspiration!

Hi, lavender1962, thankyou that's a lovely comment! I ve had a week off so I've been running more, just got it down to 30.16, though I was hoping for under 30! I feel I need to aim for something to push myself and give myself a target. Hope your running's going well.

Welcome to this great place :)

Did you follow the C25K programme when you were running :) Are you, going to use a new programme to build fitness up again this time...?

This forum is based on the C25K programme which builds folk up slowly and safely, and enjoyably,( without injury), to running for 30 minutes in nine weeks..it is not about getting to run 5K in nine weeks( yes, the title is a little odd !:))

It will be great for folk who have graduated to see what programme/plan you are using to take yourself forward on your running journey ..thanks for sharing :)
