Firstly I'd like to say how excited I am to find you all!

I completed C25K about 3 years ago, ran for 30 minutes once and never did it again! This time I'm determined to stick at it and am aiming to complete a half marathon next year. I've just completed w5d2 with the big 20 minuter coming on Friday. I'm not following the app exactly as I'm only running twice a week, two other days I do a 20 minute HIIT workout and 1 day I do a small abs focussed workout. I'm aiming to increase this gradually to 3 runs a week and 2 HIIT sessions. So far I have found the programme not easy but manageable and I feel that my HIIT training (have been doing this for nearly 5 months and have lost nearly 3 stone so far!) has massively helped with this building up my strength and cardio abilities!

Really excited to find some running pals (don't particularly have the most fitness orientated friends) and get lots of advice and tips as I'm still a total newb!

Welcome. Sounds like you have a plan! Let's hope that by posting here we can develop a habit that stays with you this time.

Keep running, keep smiling.

Thank you! Definitely aiming to make it a lifestyle this time and not just a phase.

Using this forum does seem to be a key element of keeping at the running... those people who continue to read and be involved even when something is getting in the way of the running usually manage to get back to it.

It's true! Keeping in touch with the wonderful folk on here keeps me going through the tough times. Even when I don't have the time or inclination to post a proper post, just keeping up with what everyone else is up to inspires me. I definitely wouldn't still be running, or even have graduated for that matter, without this forum. Good luck with the 20 minutes - and don't forget to let us know how it's going :)
