Today I finally got round to sending a piece to Parkrun UK thinking they might perhaps include it in their weekly newsletter. Within minutes they had posted it on their Facebook page, the link is below. Please take a look. Within 1hour 500 people had commented/ liked.
Please do think about putting your name on the organ donation list if you have not already done so. If you do, please make sure your family are aware of your wishes, as they must agree to the donation at the point it becomes an opportunity.
Parkrun UK have also asked my daughter to contribute a full story to heighten awareness of Organ Donation. She is delighted to do so.
Lovely post Millsie-J and great photo of a sprint finish. As you know your daughter has been a great inspiration and little beacon of hope at some of our darkest times while waiting for our transplant. I am so pleased for all of you. Onwards and upwards for all of us I say 😀. We are 5 weeks post transplant now and getting back into the swing of things. Our main aim is getting back to our 14-17 km hikes, we can't wait. I'm only recovering from the surgery, I swear my body does not realise the kidney has gone 😀.
You are doing great Rfc. You will both move a long way forward over the next couple of weeks Im sure. The turning point! As you know we have always followed the slow and steady mantra on this road of recovery and its paid off.
Lots of love, hugs and good wishes to you and yours. Yes onwards and upwards for us all xxxx
