I am so chuffed!! I missed out on this on my training run last week as I had to stop at a crossing for an ambulance on blue lights. My pace was my best yet but it wasn't to be. Today I really didn't feel like going out at all. Too much emotional stuff and meetings on this week that was blocking my running. I went out with little enthusiasm and with grit started off ok. In fact half way round I thought I was getting a bit too quick. Breathing was deeper and faster but not out of control. My left ankle was twinging all the way but I kept using my mantra ' relax and keep going'. Well I was coming up to three miles and I was looking at a 9.38 pace per mile, could I do it? The last 0.2 of a mile involves crossing the road but as luck would have it a blue light ambulance had stopped and parted the traffic. Taking my opportunity I dashed across the road just after the ambulance and carried on the finish my 5k in 29.55min. I am so chuffed!!
My 2017 goal of sub 30 min 5k done!: I am so... - Couch to 5K
My 2017 goal of sub 30 min 5k done!
Perfect! Well done๐ - funny how the fast ones sometimes happen when we least expect it!
Yeay! Hooray for you ! Well done
Fantastic run, congratulations! Just when you least expected it too! That 10k training has clearly paid off!
Love the new name H. ๐๐ผ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
I needed to name change! At school i was always being told to run faster lol. I was good for a 100m sprint but never cross country or long distances! Its all down to having short legs.
Well done! You must be proper chuffed with that. I hope your legs are ok now. They should be by tomorrow after a night's rest
My legs are feeling great at the moment and my ankle is twinge free. Maybe my shoelace was slightly tighter than usual but I didn't want to stop to loosen it lol. I am still smiling like a Cheshire cat.
I don't blame you. Smug mode well engaged! You should reward yourself with a non-food treat. New piece of kit would be nice
