You know the answer to your question! LOL
Always be well hydrated and fed. You will start to think like a runner and plan accordingly. Sleep well too!
Good luck! Parkrun is FUN!
In prep for any run just eat good food, not rubbish. Porridge and half banana hour and half before fot breakfast👍🏼
Enjoy.
Healthy diet and water, I enjoy a couple of small beers on a Friday evening before Parkrun, find it does not harm, but again drink plenty of water after and sip through the night, yes, generally best to avoid alchohol though..
I like a slice of toast and peanut butter about an hour and a half before parkrun. And two cups of coffee because I'm one of those drug cheats you hear about; I need caffeine to function.
I eat a few nuts and pieces of dried fruit for energy before a morning run (with coffee for an extra buzz!) I prefer to eat my breakfast after the run so I really enjoy it!
I'm pleased someone asked this question, generally I can't leave the house before I eat breakfast......however, ahead of my 2nd Parkrun my tummy is really protesting (pesky butterflies!!) I've just forced down some porridge which I've always been advised is good for slow energy release. Hope you find the right breakfast for you and have a great run. Oh and I can't quite bring myself to not have a sneaky Bacardi the night before, I like to think of it as medicinal 😂😂
last night be had a chinese (whoops) lol all the carbs probably helped anyway.had a few spoons of overnight oats for breakfast, a nice chocolate peanut butter recipe.
so my 2nd parkrun official time was 26:36. didnt feel like i was working any harder from last weeks but yes beat my pb by about 3 minutes.
and i didnt have any alcohol. first Friday in ma y years.
