Sorry, can't bring myself to call it the injury couch, as this was elective surgery to remove a harmless but 'getting a bit too big bump' from the back of my neck. In and out as a day case with our wonderful NHS yesterday (lovely, wonderful people at St. George's in Tooting!) Seem to have recovered well from the GA and am now going to rest up well whilst everything heals. No running for a few days and the rest of the school holidays ahead of me, so plenty of time to come on here and catch up with how everyone else is doing. I will enjoy reading all the great run posts on here to sustain me until I am back out running myself again.๐x

Glad it all went well - taking a bit of time to ensure recovery goes to plan seems very sensible. There'll always be time for more running in the future
Tooting! My old stamping grounds back in my London era! "Power to the People!!!"
Every best wish for a full recovery and a nice convalesce in the meantime
Ah, Citizen Smith! My Dad, a middle ranking police officer in charge of a police station, used to punch the air and shout "Power to the People" before entering his office every day.
Hope the recovery goes as well as the op!
Get well soon!! You can plan out your next 10 runs in detail and go shopping for new running kit!!
Heal quickly Sandra x
Rest, relax and route plan.. I will take you with me again tomorrow... heading out before 7, ( A quick 5K across the fields)....but you can take it easy for the rest of the day x
Glad you're feeling positive and good luck with being patient - I would lend you some but I'm a bit short on it myself.
Glad it all went well and speedy recovery. I used to live in Balham so know the area. I have to agree with you on the NHS Front, we have been under Kings and Guys and they all, without exception have been marvellous. I have been told it takes a little while to get the anesthetic out of your system, I had 6 hours of the stuff, so take it easy and look after yourself, must admit I'm loving having the extra time to come on here and support ๐.
Thanks RFC. How are you both doing?
Oooh I had a big lump on my neck , it looked like I was growing another head ! I didn't get put to sleep though just had it numbed and whipped out
Yes take it easy for a bit Sandra , no flying !
Glad it all went well xxx
I asked for a local (trying to be brave) but they would only do it under GA! Was yours a lipoma too? And are you glad you got it removed? Am hoping the scar will settle well but rather a scar than a bump!! x
I think it was some kind of cyst . It stuck out like a sore thumb ! Only left a tiny scar xxx
Mine was a lipoma on the back of my neck. It had been growing for about 15 years and apparently it was about the size of a grapefruit. I had a GA in mid July last year to have it removed. How ever bad the scar is it won't be as bad as the lipoma, as far as I'm concerned.
I started C25K a couple of weeks after my op. All part of the 'new me' plan!
Hope your recovery goes well and you're back running again soon.
Glad to hear you have recovered well. You'll be back out on the run before you know it
Get Well soon Sandra! Only just seen this, hope you're feeling ok, have a good rest up now love Ali xxx
A good excuse to be lazy for a few days!!๐
sounds like that's the way to go.................
...and I don't have work as it's the school holidays (yes, I actually requested the op during the holidays if possibl, so that I wouldn't need to take time off!! And my lovely Consultant obliged!!). So, guilt-free laziness too!๐
i'm off to deliver some things to Yarmouth in a bit, a fresh air virtual walk will do you good! parking at viewpoint....
Ooh have a good rest. GA will make you quite tired if memory serves
I loved Citizen Smith. Shirley's mum polishing the apples with Pledge ๐๐
A few days rest I'm sure will be appreciated by your joints. The first run back always feels so good. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
All the best for a swift recovery. A GA takes more out of you than you think - I was only under for a short time a couple of years ago but it took a couple of weeks before I felt completely 'normal' again (for a given value of normal ) Take it easy, and enjoy that first run back
I'm sure you're glad it's over Sandra. But online shopping or checking out new routes is the only way to go ....๐
Hope you're up and about soon.x
I hope you have a speedy recovery and I hope you arent too sore
