Back to week 1

Starting again after illness and injury stopped me in week 2 last time. Really enjoyed it last time - not so much this but hoping to get better and try and enjoy again - especially as spring seems to have sprung. Advice welcome!

Just take it slowly and try to find an interesting route to run - failing that, as flat as possible!

Well done on getting back on plan!

RuthFH. I too started again at week 1 after injury. The only additional advice to add is that I repeated some runs a couple of time before moving on. I felt this helped me progress. From week 4 onwards, I also gave myself two recovery days between each run. I have now progressed onto week 7.

Well done on getting back onto the plan and good luck.😊

After being ill (a stroke!) and out of running (well, plodding..) for a year, i did Week 1 for three weeks, until I felt ready to move on! So keep on going - I've just run for 30 mins this morning, and you will too. We will be with you all the way!

I found the first few weeks more difficult when I started again, I think because I was disappointed to be having to start over. I'm starting week 6 today and it is really coming together. I'm running really slowly - I'm sure I could walk faster. But speed can come later.

Glad to hear you're feeling better. Just get out there and do it. The buzz you get from completing each week will see you through to graduation (injuries or illness permitting!)

Good luck 😉

I had to start week one again too because I hurt my knee and was off for a couple of months. It spured me on to getting some new running shoes and my knee has been fine since. I'm still only on week 3 ( started it last year!), but I am taking 2 rest days in between and repeating weeks or days if they didn't go well. I'm not really bothered about how long it takes me to do this flipping thing. The main thing is that I am getting off my backside and getting out of breath 3 times a week. That's more than I used to be doing on the couch. I was really pleased that week 3 day one after the third attempt went well yesterday and I wasn't absolutly knackered like I was the first time I did it. Good luck with week 1 again.

Thanks everyone, really helpful to know you're here and it can be done! Completed Run 2 tonight and OK, but tough - might need to do more sessions each week (with a break in between) but will see how i go! Happy running one and all
