There's no business like snow business...

I haven't run in the more than a week I've been here in Whistler (though I've skied several hundred km) so I went out to check a relatively flat trail by some of the of the lakes. There were a number of people running but although the scenery is great and some parts are clear there was too much slippery stuff for me to walk with confidence let alone run, especially as I have a bruise the size of my hand on my hip from slipping on some ice hidden under a couple of cm of snow (regularly topped up by lesser falls since!). It is thawing today after snowing pretty much all week so maybe I'll get out for a run this week.

I'm sure you're getting plenty of exercise wit the skiing - don't risk a fall by running!

runswithdogs lives in Canada and I'm sure she runs on snow. Ice is a different matter though 😳

The running will be there when you get back home, just waiting for you 😊

Ooh. That does look like an icy path. I find running on slippery trails easier than walking on them - you never are in contact with the ground long. If it's really slick you can get slip on grips for your shoes for relatively cheap - they'll let you run on ice. They may even have some for rentals in Whistler.

Any chance you're crossing the Rockies and coming by Calgary?

There is also a Parkrun in Richmond if you're so inclined ☺

I plan on staying in Whistler, certainly while the snow is this good :) Yesterday I just couldn't get enough of it and ended up skiing for 7 hours with only a short tea break, skiing over 60 km. The only thing that stopped me was the lifts closing. I thank C25K for giving me the stamina to do that - and still feel fine this morning!
