W4- Snow or no snow?

Despite a few optimistic little flakes dancing around here late morning, the snow stayed away - hooray! No DD with me again tonight, but I went anyway to make a start on ‘week 4-‘. Is decided I’d do the 3, 5, 3, and then only decide after that if I wanted to do any of the final 5 mins, or stop at a total of 11 mins.

As I got to the end of my first run, a fox trotted past me in the other direction, more bothered about getting wherever it was going than about judging my pace (or lack thereof!) ;) The rest was pretty uneventful; keeping going for the full five was a test of my mind as much as my legs, but it was fine. The second three mins was definitely tiring, but I felt that I could have done more than the final 2 1/2 mins - if not for concern over my knee!

On the bright side, the knees are feeling ok still, so I’m hoping this is going to be fine... :)

Steady progress for sure :) The best bit is that I’m now regularly running on an evening that I didn’t think would work for me (except for this week!). Suddenly, having found the self-discipline, I’m *making* it work for me! ;) And the fact that I’ve now been running regularly for five weeks means I want to keep going because I know how much better I’m feeling for making the time and effort to do it.

It’s reassuring that even though we no longer live out in the countryside, our city centre home has deer and foxes nearby! And I saw a kingfisher along the river a few weeks after we moved in, back in the summer. I’m happy as long as I have running and wildlife! 😊

There were some flakes of something dancing in the lights I passed and in my torch beam from time to time, but fortunately it’s mild enough here tonight that there’s no ice, and the idea of snow never had much chance! But I do feel ever so virtuous for being out in it! 😂
