5 minutes ~ 8 minutes and a 5 minute run.

Seriously πŸ˜’, it could be a multitude of factors.

1. Egotistical head on completing 20 minutes last week W5R3

2. Running after two days break

3. Heavy diets over the weekend

4. 1 AM running after a long day

5. Or just W6 magic

Whatever it is, it brought me right down. Still, managed to not stop.

Read few posts here. Seems many are finding the W6R1 harder.

By the way, I have been trying to look smart 😎 whilst running. It's always a contorted face with my tongue sticking out. 😜 Any suggestions?

I really love your posts nchunc, it's like reliving every moment of my own c25k journey. Week 6 was horrible for me too. I really thought I had it cracked after W5R3. But as you say, seems a lot of people struggle at that point.

Just keep putting one foot in front of another :-)

Week 6 tests lots of us, but you did run 1 so you will do run 2, then its all continuos running there after . Graduation is just around the corner.

Cap and sunnies regardless of weather. I dont scare the wildlife then teehee!

I hated week 6 from beginning to end. It's the stopping and starting that gets my legs and breathing all messed up, I think. I found the last 3 weeks much better - but I just had to grit my teeth and get through that week 6. I'm not sure if that helps you or not!!

Yeah, it's tough...W6,R2 not so bad (and I say that despite being in pain!)...it's W6,R3 that worries me! Of course, that might be knowing it's just long runs from now on, but we did W5,R3, right? I'm beginning to wonder if that was just my imagination now.

W6 R1 is there for a reason- whatever that reason is, which may be to make us think 'oh stuff all this stopping and starting! I even preferred W5R3!'- trixksy little minx that Laura is. Anyway you did it- well done! :)

I am definitely looking forward to the continuous runs from next week. Week 6 has got one more walk and run day. 10 min X2, hopefully it works out fine.

You didn't stop though :)

If it were easy we wouldn't need the programme so don't worry about it - you are doing fine :)

As for looking attractive when running - have you considered getting multiple tongue piercings ? ;)

There was a survey on this site a couple of years ago and week 6 was voted to be the toughest.

My own theory is that you/we have reached the stage where the rest benefit of the walking breaks is outweighed by the loss of rhythm that it entails.

You are doing great, well done.

I'm definitely finding the walking breaks a bit too long; I ran with a group today; 3 x jogs with 2 x walking breaks of 2 mins. In the cold pouring rain this was quite long enough; the last jog was a bit longer than W6R1 plan, but was downhill and at a steady pace was okay. I even managed a short "sprint" to an underpass which offered a few seconds respite from the downpour. Can throughly recommend going out with a group if you get the chance.

Back to Laura and W6R2 on Wednesday.

Group running sounds interesting indeed.

It's just I have always thought I might be holding them back with my novice approach to everything running. I guess it has to be a right group after all.

Many many people struggle with that run, you're not alone! You did it though, so well done. As for looking good whilst running, really can't help you there! Some people seem to look effortless and elegant when running but it's certainly not me! Luckily the programme did wonders for me not caring what other people think of me by Week 7 so perhaps that's the cure! :)

The programme does help with thoughts such as what people might think.. I shall wait and see what continuous running from week 7 does. :)

Tough..(Still 18 mins of running)..but you did it..😊well done.

R2 is 2 x 10 and you know you can do 20 minsπŸ˜‰ so no worries there. Make the most of your last walking break too. See how quickly you recover..

Remember to always start slowly and leave something for the end.😊

I imagine you look great running..especially when you fist pump and grin as you finish..πŸ˜†xx

Lol. I fins that when I see other women out running they are gliding effortlessly along, shiny pony tails bobbing gaily, slum lycra clad bodies looking toned and immaculate makeup. Whereas when I run I have a red tomato face, I sweating, parts of my body I never even knew Could Move are wobbling almost independently in my precariously see through leggings

And there was me going for a kind of cat woman look. Sigh. ...

Just back from my wk6, run 1. Found it tough but I knew from last week that I could do it. I avoid the whole looking good while running dilemma by only running when it's dark, very dark.

W6R1 was a BITCH for me as well! It does get better honestly... I'm only a couple of weeks ahead of you so it's still fresh in my mind!

As for looking good, hey, no problem for me - the ski mask does it every time. Could get a bit warm by Spring though so may have to swop for the brown paper bag with the eye holes...

Ha ha loved that! That made me laugh, thanks for that. Hello Tractorman, I'm on week 4 and find the 5mins hard enough! I run in the dark at the moment so don't need the mask yet but worrying about week 5 now, let alone week 6! Plus evenings getting lighter so I will need to cover up soon. Red puffy seizure face not a good look.!!!!

Hello nchunc. I have just finished W6R1 and I have to agree ! It did seem to be tougher. I blamed it on waking up with headache after a 9 hour sleep because Monday night was taken up with hubby and myself looking after a poorly young Labrador,throughout the night ,so not much sleep then.Anyway antibiotics,for infection ,drug to stop her being sick and ant inflammatory drugs to calm her stomach . She's still under the weather today so not her usual cheeky self. Our other lab,her uncle although concerned we is quite happy with the peace as she isn't pestering him ha!

I'm sure this won't last too long and she will be back to normal. Can't wait for that.

So all in all today's run was ok but even though I did not stop I could have don better I think ,it did seem a struggle. It could be my age 59 !

I'll put this down to experience πŸ˜„πŸ˜„
