Hi everyone. I have finished week two and start week three tomorrow but having downloaded the podcast I am scared I won't be able to do it!

You won't know until you try! But just take it really slowly- if you're out of breath then you're going too fast. Just remember that this program is about building stamina rather than speed, and there's no time limit on how many times you can repeat it.

Good luck!

Thankyou! I'm my own biggest critic but I'm determined to do it.

That's all you need - determination! In it to win it!

I'm not trying to tell you how to feel, but I'm guessing you also felt the same way before weeks 1 and 2? You still managed those ok!

Yes you will:). You've competed weeks 1 & 2. So just take it Slow & Steady.

The mind gremlins will fill you with doubt & fear. But they're just pesky wee lazy liars who are objecting to this healthy new lifestyle.

You just go & show them who's boss. 😃

Very well done... you can do this....! Focus on how far you have come and where you are now..:)

The only thing we have to fear...is fear itself... Go for it!

PPS

And, as ever.. slow and steady!

Thank you all! As for going slow and steady - I'm not sure how much slower can go! Going to do it.

Hi, I can't give you any real advice, there are lots of people here that I rely upon to keep me going, so listen to them because they really do help. If it's any use to you, though, I felt like that at the end of W2 and have today a week later managed to complete W3R3. Now whilst you are scared of your looming W3 I'm equally frightened rigid of my approaching W4 ... everyone on this forum seems to say that feeling scared like we both do is just a normal part of the programme ...... see you at the end!

YOU are in control. The programme works. Believe in it and in yourself. There is nothing to fear and so much self belief to be gained.

If you don't complete a run simply repeat it...........YOU are in control.

Keep running, keep smiling.

If you did week 2 you are ready for week 3! Laura knows these things - and she's normally right. Go for it - what have you got to lose? If it doesn't work out just keep trying until you crack it. But it will work out, look at all the people on this forum. We were all in the same position as you at one point and now we are all running!

Very sensible of you! It makes no sense at all that we could successfully complete the following week. However, running miracles happen every day and the C25K programme is totally amazing because I was like you, thought I would never be a runner. Trust the C25K programme, take it nice and slow, try to relax you legs as you run and breathe nice and slowly and deeply and give it your best. I think you will surprise yourself!

I never expected to get past the first couple of weeks. At the end of each week, I'd have a tiny "yay, go me" feeling and then a disproportionately HUGE, "oh my God, I'm never going to be able to complete the next week" feeling. You are not alone. Far from it! Mind over matter. Give it a try. It is doable, honestly.😊

I've finished week 3 today and no one is more surprised than me...if I can, you can. As someone once wrote - feel the fear and do it anyway! If we thought it was easy, there'd be no satisfaction in doing it!

Well done for completing week 3! How was it for you?

It was actually ok, but if I said that out loud I'd probably be struck by lightning so don't tell anyone.

I felt like you this time last week with W3 starting the next morning. But the work you have done in the first 2 weeks will have set you up. I found I was actually able to run for the 3 minutes (albeit slowly) but it happened. I did huff and puff and the legs were tired by the end of it but that means you are working your body. Give it a try I'm sure you will be fine. Good luck for W3 x

Just go as slowly as you need - believe in the programme, it really does work!

You CAN do this! What have you got to lose? It if takes more than 3 runs to complete a week it isn't a problem - just extra practice! :)

Hi I'm at the same stage as you and I've been having similar scared thoughts. However I've worked out that it's the same amount of time running just in more concentrated clumps and as I managed it is smaller chunks all I need to do is put some of it together (A bit convoluted but it's helping me!) I've also decided that when I finish Week 3 's runs I'm going to treat myself to a proper running top rather than the old t-shirt I wear. See you at the end of Week 3 - we can do it!!

You will, you will! Every week the step up seems too big but if all of us have managed, you will too! :) The programme is magic and prepares you physically for the next run. Those gremlins might be on your shoulder telling you that you can't do it but ignore them, they know nothing. :) You can!
