Having planned to run tonight, then been told I probably couldn't as some furniture needed moving out of DD2's room and was likely to be a huge hassle, I got home to find that she and Mr Rainbow had managed it so I was free to run after all! :) So quick tip-up charge for my phone, and off I went - having failed to persuade Miss Rainbow 1 to come with me.

My calves were feeling tired at the end of my warm-up walk - because I'd gone quicker than normal! - but I didn't listen to the gremlin telling me this would be bad.

From the start the running felt good. I decided not to worry about trying to go slowly, since I just can't tell how fast I'm going anyway, by instead to just go at the pace that get comfortable, even though that was a bit quicker than my deliberately 'slow'. After a couple of minutes the gremlins tried telling me that I wouldn't be able to do this, j was hungry, my ankle felt tight, but I flicked them off my shoulders and stomped on them firmly.

Time ticked by, I got a compliment from someone on how visible I was - and that with only my new chest torch, no arm or shoe lights! And all of a sudden Laura said I was half way through :) Somehow I feel that if I can get halfway, the rest is manageable! And it was! I think the technical term is I smashed it! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ *And* did an extra minute on the end, just because I could! Roll on week 8 - I'm coming to get you...

So it all worked out! It's amazing how that happens sometimes isn't it!

Well done for beating those gremlins too :)

Excellent post! Well done. Brilliant run. You obviously felt good and you smashed it, as you say. Nearly there now, nearly there. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»

It really was - until I twisted my ankle yesterday morning, and it's still tender down the back of my heel now... :( Hopefully a few days' rest will do the trick and I'll be able to keep going without missing much!
