I haven"t posted since my week 5 run. I managed week 6 and then had to go off to work in the middle east, so did my week 7 and 8 on a treadmill in the hotel gym, which I found so much easier! Back home for the final week 9, which I found extremely difficult. I couldn't seem to get myself past 25-28 minutes. I don't know if it is a combination of tiredness or the cold outside. Last week I managed a 32 minute run (just over 5k, yay!!!), but have now been off with a horrid virus. Probably better to wait until I'm over it before trying again, but I'm so desperate not to throw away all the hard work up to now.
Almost there.... But not quite.: I haven"t... - Couch to 5K
Almost there.... But not quite.
Viruses are grim, and leave you shattered... get better and it won't be long to ease yourself back in... take care 😎
As ju-ju says, let your body recover from the virus, and you'll be able to pick it back up. Even if you do a 25 minute run first time, to set yourself an achievable target, you can then do one or two week 8 runs, before picking up week 9. It's more important to go back to it in a way that works for you than to try and finish in the next few days
Happy running!
How frustrating! Try not to worry too much, I had to take some time out recently and found that when I went back to it my time hadn't suffered that much. Good luck and hope you recover quickly
Horrid viruses! Maybe slow down a tad? Enjoy the run and speed up after Graduation..🙂
Don't worry. I had about 2 weeks without running due to moving home. Within 1 or 2 weeks was back to where I was and then improving.u
Read somewhere that some experts say that at whatever age you start that you can have about 7 years of improving ! So I am putting this this theory to the test !
So only thing you have to worry about is peaking too soon ! So as I bore everyone with saying "Where's the fire". As others say also take it steady !
