Just finished W7R3 this morning. Just wondering when I'll be able to move faster:) I am barely making a total of 2.5 miles with the 5 minute warm-up and cool down included! At this pace, it will take me at least an hour to run a 5K. And I can't imagine that I'll be able to go any faster. Has anyone else struggled with this?

So you can run over two miles...........wow!!!!!! You couldn't do that before you started, I presume, so don't worry, just accept that you are not as fast as Mo Farah. Your pace is your pace and you should be proud of yourself, not worrying about how slow you are. By the way, your question is one of the most commonly asked on this forum.

Keep running, keep smiling.

Yes, pretty much all except the fastest of us have thought this at some point in the programme I expect! Don't worry about speed or distance at this stage, you don't have to actually run 5km to graduate. Slow is good, it means you are building up your fitness and protecting yourself from injury. You'll find that your distance will increase in the next couple of weeks and you will be gradually getting faster without realising it as you continue to consolidate your 30 minute runs after graduation. You are still covering 4km though so that's pretty decent! Keep at it, sounds like you're doing great!

I'm running for 25 minutes at the moment and I alternate, it seems, between great energy and struggling! Last run, I dragged myself around the park at a pace hardly faster than walking! But each step is still building stamina so just congratulate yourself for persevering. :-)

I thought that at the same stage! Think how far you have come and remember that you will keep on progressing once you have graduated, as long as you keep running. You are doing great!

Yes I'm very slow too. I'm hoping that if I keep plodding on my stamina and maybe my speed will improve. Think how far you've come since week 1. Could you even imagine running for 30 minutes? Keep going, you're doing great!

I have done a park run twice since graduating 5km and my time was 45 mins and 48 mins

My wee legs just would not go any faster. On both occasions I was last ... but who's caring. You and me are out there doing it !!! Loads more still on couch!!

Keep it up you are amazing 😉

Thank you all so much for your encouragement. You helped me put this in perspective. Yes, just 7 weeks ago I could barely get through 90 seconds. Anything beyond that terrified me and I was certain that I would fail at some point. But here I am, ready to tackle W8R1 on Sunday:) Cheer me on............
