Just thought I'd say "Hi" and introduce myself. 41 year old guy, always hated exercise and dreaded PE at school and always struggled with my weight. Recently decided to sort my life out and have just completed day 1 of week 4 of C25K. I have to say I am quite enjoying this and am have started to get the odd compliment, which is great. I've also joined the gym at work and plan to use the rowing machines between running days. I have set myself the target of doing a Parkrun sometime early 2017. I am amazed at how I have managed to progress to my run today given a) I have never really done much exercise before and b) it was only 4 weeks ago that I struggled to run 60 seconds.
Looking forward to reading all your success stories and sharing mine along the way!

I totally hated PE, especially the cross country. Mind you, the teachers just sent us out, no warm up, no instructions and it was pure torture. I am now 53, had lost a couple of stone and wanted to get fitter, so did the C25K programme. Stubbornly I ploughed through the weeks and it was such an achievement that I could actually do it because the progression is amazing. I run every week, always three times and on Saturday, my long run is 10k. It's amazing, oh, and I actually enjoy running now
Welcome and well done for getting so far! Great that you're enjoying it too. C25k is such a great programme. Following it is one of the best decisions you will ever make! Sounds like you're doing brilliantly, so no advice needed!
I think so many of us were like you. I would rather have missed a bus and waited an hour for the next one than run to catch it! We go from exercise-phobes to suddenly out of nowhere loving running and wishing we'd all discovered it sooner!
The forum is the best place on the internet - it's full of the most amazing, inspirational people on the internet. Looking forward to hearing all about your running journey!
