Just to be clear, the beginners group I run with is a Canicross beginners group. For those of you who don't know, Canicross is where you run with a dog (or dogs) attached to you by means of a bungee 'lead', a belt for your middle and some kind of harness for the dog(s).
Yesterday morning we went for a run in the woods. The storm had died down, there was very little wind, in fact it really was quite a pleasant morning, just... slippery under foot. For slippery read: a couple of paths had become tributaries to the river that runs through the woods...
It went pretty well, and if I hadn't fallen over a couple of times - once when a pothole took me by surprise and once when a branch on the path jumped up and bit me - I would definitely have counted it as W5: Day 2. As it is I'll do W5: Day 2 tomorrow and aim to do Day 3 on Thursday ready to do the local 5k MoRun* (complete with the app playing in my ear) on Saturday.
*I'm half expecting Thursday to end up being a practice, and hoping I can actually manage a full 20 minute run on the Saturday on my second attempt.
