So that's what Technical means...

Just to be clear, the beginners group I run with is a Canicross beginners group. For those of you who don't know, Canicross is where you run with a dog (or dogs) attached to you by means of a bungee 'lead', a belt for your middle and some kind of harness for the dog(s).

Yesterday morning we went for a run in the woods. The storm had died down, there was very little wind, in fact it really was quite a pleasant morning, just... slippery under foot. For slippery read: a couple of paths had become tributaries to the river that runs through the woods...

It went pretty well, and if I hadn't fallen over a couple of times - once when a pothole took me by surprise and once when a branch on the path jumped up and bit me - I would definitely have counted it as W5: Day 2. As it is I'll do W5: Day 2 tomorrow and aim to do Day 3 on Thursday ready to do the local 5k MoRun* (complete with the app playing in my ear) on Saturday.

*I'm half expecting Thursday to end up being a practice, and hoping I can actually manage a full 20 minute run on the Saturday on my second attempt.

Hope your run goes smoothly today and that the branches are more sedentary. :-)

With today's wind, I'm not sure they will be, but I can but hope :D

Sounds like a fun running group! Are care out there, it's a tricky time of year with slippery leaves that hide a multitude of obstacles! Good luck with the run

Sounds like huge fun 😊

I did a fell race recently and some of the runners there are Canicrossers ☺ Great thing to do with your doggy pals 😊

I've not fallen yet but am aware it's overdue to happen! Twice in one run is bad luck. Hope you weren't hurt.

Our dog is very lovely but a total idiot. I have one of those bungee waist lead things but we're fine until she sees something of great interest to her, or another dog in the distance... and being a big strong labrador it can get, well, interesting! She also loves to run very very close to my legs when I'm sprinting downhill (the only time I ever sprint) and I feel that's dangerous too.

To be honest, I prefer it when Him Indoors takes her walkies and I can run unimpeded. :)

I would not want to run with a big strong lab, though other people do (the nutters! 🐶)
