After not being able to get out since last Thursday, I decided I had to run tonight in the dark otherwise it was going to a whole week since my last run and my next. So I fought the gremlins off and got ready. It was quite warm and I ended up being overdressed in a long sleeve top and jacket so I tied the jacket around my waist. I feel so conspicuous in the dark with car headlights lighting me up so I decided to do a few laps of the industrial estate. However I felt a bit uneasy as it was so deserted so I took a short cut to some houses, that was a bit better. By this time my confidence had started to build up a bit so I thought I'd run to the marina and run along there. It was pitch black and I could only see the path when a car went past so that's no good for night time running either. Still I managed to complete the run and I quite enjoyed it. Next one Thursday.

Week 8 run 1
Excellent stuff debze ! You got out there and managed to complete your first run of week 8 in the dark (and luckily without any mishaps!) I recommend you take a little torch at the very least with you if you are in that situation again, so when there are no cars around you can at least shine it ahead of you to make sure you're not going to fall over! ( I did put something else there, but thought better of it and edited it before posting! lol)
I also went out today (I didn't get chance yesterday), and was also a little overdressed as I had my Aldi running jacket on over my tee-shirt then my newly acquired Aldi reflective bodywarmer on over the top of them, plus my hat and my long running trousers, so you can imagine I built up quite a sweat by the time I finished!
Haha I'm intrigued to know what you were going to write lol but yep..a torch is a really good idea It was so warm tonight I think a t-shirt and capri pants would've done me. Hopefully until I get a treadmill I'll only have to run once a week in the dark. I was running today thinking about how much I struggled with 60 seconds just a few weeks ago... this is an amazing plan!
