Strength and flex podcast

I have just completed my first run on week 6. Can't believe how far I have come. Thinking of starting the strength and flex podcast on none run days. Would prefer to do this in the home. Has anyone else tried it? If so do you have any alternative ways for the press ups as I Do not have a horizontal bar

Loads here have done it. I did it while out and about, using the railings in the local park and the bench. Great fun! I looked at the short video on nhs livewell website starring Laura (she of the C25k podcasts) to give me an idea of what the moves looked like

Press ups! I thought she just did a standing press up using a tree

Sos I meant the pull ups she does on the railings!

I will have a look at the livewell website

Thanks

I tried it and found it too awkward. However, doing strength and flex exercises has made a huge difference to my legs. I do 2 types of squats and forward and backward leg lifts on rest days. My knees have been great and I don't move them much while running, so they can stiffen up but since doing exercises, they are great

Yes, i did it using park railings and also the outdoor gym equipment in our park. One installation has bars and handles that I could use.

I did the first couple of sessions indoors, using the bars of the stair rails.

I completed it but have to admit I haven't done much since. I should get out again.

Tee hee.. I did this along side C25K on my rest days... I used the triple wardrobe... instead of a tree...had a chair instead of a park bench and generally it all worked :) Looked odd but was very beneficial :)

I find the podcasts really useful and do them on the days I'm not running. I do it all indoors. I use the banister posts on our stairs for the pull-ups.

I'm a member of my local gym so do swimming after my run and a core class on non run days as it's recommended for runners. I'm currently on week 8 of the plan.

I've downloaded these, I'll give 'em a go! Do they need any special clothing, I mean do you get sweaty and need to change afterwards?

OK, I had a go, not my cup of tea... I'll be interested to see how you get on Lotty xx

Had a go with the podcast. Not for me. Doing some flex and strength exercises at gym. How did you go on?
