Going well in week 3

Week three is going well and I definitely feel less tired and sore than I did in week one!

Just out of interest - has anyone seen a significant (or even slight) weight loss from doing the c25k programme? I really want/need to lose some weight and I was hoping the increased activity would help. Any thoughts?

Glad programme going well. I did not have any weight loss but I did start becoming firmer especially in thighs. Others have reported that they felt less like snacking. It's a great programme but only the beginning of a healthier life style.

I'm also attending slimming world but the running is firming up the wobbles!! I'm consistently loosing about 1.5lbs most weeks now..... Motivation to eat healthier is helped by the running

I gave up smoking 8 weeks ago I'm feeling good

I've used the programme plus regular gym sessions to stabilise my weight as the tablets I've been put on make you put on weight. I was so worried about weight gain as oncologist said I'd need to be on pills for 10 years. Fortunately, with some sensible eating too, I'm managing to keep it level.

Good luck though. My friend started the programme in August and has so far lost 1 stone.

I echo what the others have said, C25k is excellent exercise but only part of a healthy lifestyle. To lose weight you will need to look at eating fewer calories too. Exercise alone is u likely to burn enough calories, it will make you feel good and tone all the wobbles though.

I'm also doing slimming world & have just finished c25k a week ago & lost 12lbs so chuffed but still a bit to go😊 I definately find though that the running makes me feel so much better & I am more apt to think twice about eating junk food and eating healthy options more fruit etc. like the others say it is all about making healthy choices and both eating & exercise. Hang on in there with your running & I'm sure the weight will come off as you will want to eat healthier food . Keep going🏃🏃🏃 & good luck😊x

Hey well done, you're going well. I lost 4 inches off my waist although I haven't actually weighed myself. I do know my jeans became too big :-). I noticed around Wk 6 - what a bonus!

Good luck x

Well done on your progress so far!

Nearing the end of Wk6 now and I haven't noticed any weight loss either - and I try to eat healthily as much as pos. But I have 'felt' more toned, even if the wobbly bits are still wobbling! However, this article may explain why some lose weight when running, while others don't:

My tum rumbles a lot too, especially after dinner.

Exercise, such as C25K, will help with weight loss but without a balanced diet it won't work alone!
