I have finally got the kids back to school and thought this week I would pick up my running again. Monday I was supposed to run on my day off but ended up working. Then a head cold and aches developed. Thursday is my next day off but we had child related appointments all day which meant I had 30 mins to squeeze in a run. I still have a cold and cough but no aches so I planned a short 2 miles with hill. Blimey my legs were tired and the hill was hard work, I had a sneaky walk at the top. OK I ran in 20 minutes but it was a rubbish run. I feel quite despondent as I did a pb 5k at parkrun on Saturday and now I struggled with less. Hopefully this is just a blip.

Rubbish run
Fantastic that you did a 5k PB on Saturday! Focus on that great achievement, not your last run. Even though you had no aches, if you had a cold and a cough this probably had an effect on your running. I'm sure your next run will be fine!
It was a run, and it's better than sitting at home hating yourself because you didn't go. You got out there when you had very little time, so cut yourself some slack.... there are runs like that, so just chuck it in the F**K it bucket and look forward to the next one
I had planned my run, longer if I had time but shorter if not. At one point I thought I wasn't going to go and I was very disappointed. Then a small window popped up and I was changed and out in a shot. Definitely one for the f bucket. I did pull my calf post run on Saturday and it was fine on my short run which is a bonus. But I am shattered today, headachy and coughing so was probably asking too much to go out on a run. Guess I might not make parkrun tomorrow. Onwards and upwards for a Monday morning run!
