Anyone using Strava ? .. I don't have many friends using it and no one else I know here runs .. just though it might be good to see others process as well ?
Strava: Anyone using Strava ? .. I don't have... - Couch to 5K
Strava
I use Strava - right from the early weeks of C25k because I wanted to know the full distance I'd covered, walking as well as running. My phone recorded the information then I could look at it in more detail on my PC.Also, if you use the same route regularly it will compare your runs, and it will compare your speed with the speed of others that run the same 'segment' which I think I like!
Having said that, I now have a Garmin and use Garmin Connect for the stats so I'll use my phone less from now on. I think I can download my Garmin results onto Strava but I haven't tried it yet. I hope it will still give me the maps and the segments.
I used it from early on, too, partly so I could see what distance I had done, partly so I could see what my pace was doing (all over the place) and partly so I could see if I had really been where i thought I had - some of the footpaths round here are a bit hard to follow. Like you I now have a Garmin (forerunner 35) - I've only had it a few days so still getting to know how to use it but I connected it with Strava more or less straight away using the instructions here support.strava.com/hc/en-us... which worked very easily and yes, you do get the maps and segments.
I use Garmin Connect. My son uses Strava which is the reason I don't!

Hi Rob
I'm on strava! I really like it! If you send a follwer request I wil be a strava friend if you like!😊😆
Edited - There is a C25K Running club
Before deciding to run I've used Strava for cycling but haven't been out on my bike much and didn't use Strava for my first two runs. (I'll do W1R3 on Friday)

I have ordered a new GPS watch however that I'll be able to use for cycling and running so my C25K runs will show on my Strava feed. It'll replace my bike Garmin Edge.
For those using Garmin Connect - you can have that automatically feed your runs to Strava and many other sites automatically. It works really well.
Yes I use Strava and have a new garmin forerunner too which uploads it straight to Strava from garmin connects. It's like magic. ...
I use Strava (the free version) with my Aldi GPS watch, I find it better than the Garmin site which I used when I had a Garmin Forerunner 10.
I just upload my outside runs to it, the free version has limits as to what it can analyse, as a place to store my runs. To be honest I don't look at them much after I upload them.
Aldi GPS ?? Really ??
It's working much better than the Garmin Forerunner 10 which I had before it. Battery works for far longer plus it gets and holds a signal much better. It also comes with a heartrate strap so can record your heartbeat.
It does my job so well that I picked up a spare on eBay for less than £10 (and that includes P&P) and it doesn't appear to have been used!
There are quite a few of us on Strava so you will be supported, cheered on and generally find virtual running buddies there now
Is there a way of finding c25k graduates or newbies on there specifically ?
Yes I used to before my op. Hope to start back when I'm fitter... Jim Moore Cambridge England 99% bike rides though. Nothing on there this year apart from a stroll round Papworth
Don't think there is a way to find if someone is a graduate or not...but it would be fairly easy to work it out looking at their runs. Welcome to add me if you want to: strava.com/athletes/5211106
You can add me if you like Rob, I've only been using it a couple of weeks, so still feeling my way around....
And not sure if you've seen this or not - a C25K Strava club....
I know this is an old thread but just followed some of you on strava - hoping to try it out for the first time on tomorrow's run (W5R2).
