Is anyone one here recording their runs on Strava and/or Garmin? Being a competitive sod it would be good to see how we compare in distances covered for each run - in other words I have no idea if I am running/walking slowly or reasonably quickly. I have done a lot of amateur and oldish 'racewalking' for years and am used to always trying to get that 'personal best' and it is second nature to record all my runs. I realise that the whole point of Couch is just to get off that Couch and get out and enjoy yourself and make you healthier and it is NOT a race, but are there any likeminded competitive souls out there who like to compare their stats? I find using Strava for my race walking (and cycling) stats gives me people to compare with and is a real encouragement and incentive to improve and keep going.
Strava - Garmin: Is anyone one here recording... - Couch to 5K
Strava - Garmin
I am recording my runs on garmin &Strava your welcome to to look my name is Julia Bata. Feel free to add me but I warn you it won't make for very exciting reading , not yet anyway 😀
I started using Runkeeper when i got to longer runs (week 6 onwards). It gave me the chance to vary my music sometimes, sorry Laura. I can still choose the podcasts as my music and have two promts re time etc. I can also get stats so I can see improvements even when I think its been a poor day. Its also nice to see distances and splits.
Good luck and have fun
There is a C25K group on Strava, although I find it more supportive than competitive
Thanks everyone for your replies and I have joined the Strava Club. I am currently doing Couch to 5k again, currently on Week 6, having completed Couch before about three years ago. Unfortunately now on the wrong side of 70, but interesting to compare my distances and splits with three years ago. Still trying for those PBs!
