Hi all. Seems that whenever I pop on these days its to talk about an injury of some kind. Has anyone suffered from the above? I now have 2 aching feet. Did you ever use arch supports or the like?

Its a really frustrating pain. I cant ever walk the dog without it bothering me☹

My husband suffered from it. He struggled on for ages then got a referral to a podiatrist. Insoles and exercises sorted it out quickly. He always wears the insoles now and no recurrence so far. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

I had it many years ago (unrelated to running). Try soaking your feet in a tub of warm water with epsom salts. It's my go-to for all foot pain and really helps. Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks. Will give that a try

I have heard from a friend that suffers from this that you can strap your foot up overnight and it cures the problem. She purchased a splint from amazon but if you Google this there are imaged of how to strap the foot up.

I have suffered in the past, not run related. I have steroid injections but it didn't help, although I believe it helps some people.

I was eventually given exercises by the physio, which did help after a while and eventually more or less sorted it- Essentially heal lifts/ dips.......stand on edge of the stair, facing the stairs, with front third of foot on step. Lift to tiptoe and slowly lower below the stair level. I did a slow count to six. Repeat 15 times...that's one set done. Do 3 sets , three times a day.

I always do these before and after a run even though I no longer have pain. I also complete stretches after every run.

Also, do not wear totally flat shoes, a small heal/ wedge is enough to help! That's why running shoes are so good! Heal inserts do the same but I could not always get on with these, depends on the shoes you are wearing.

Good luck 😃👟

Hello, having suffered from this a couple of years ago and being told by a podiatrist that I would always suffer, I was determined to find an answer that didn't involve orthotics forever. I found him, his name is Gary Crowley. His website is do-it-yourself-joint-pain-relief.com

I can honestly say that after following the exercises I have been heel pain free for a long time and if I do get the odd twinge, I know what to do. He is a genius.

I hope that this helps you get past this pain and get you running again!

I have had it and it sucks to put it simply. I tried the steroid injection and it only helped temporarily. I actually had to wear an air boot to walk it got so bad. I could barely put any weight on it. I wear custom orthotics in my running shoes and in any shoe that they fit in. Stretching is so important..before you get out of bed, before and after runs. Ice can give some relief. One thing that gave me great relief was wearing a boot to bed. You can find them at medical supply stores. They are meant to keep your foot in a flexed position through the night.
