Well done! Those early weeks are the toughest while you learn that you CAN do this The very hardest part of this programme is - going out the door.
Read as many posts as possible and you will see you are not 'terminally unique' and that if we did it, so too can you

I have also just completed week 1 today and I plan to do my first run of week 2 on Saturday (all being well). I'm also taking on this programme after reaching the ripe old age of 50 earlier this year, so we aren't so different!
Good luck with week 2 and the rest of the programme. I've started following you now as well as I will be interested to see how we both continue to improve.

Taking on this program, is a VERY GOOD Step !!

Many of us on here are 50+. I was 55 when I started the programme and wish I'd started earlier! Mind you if I had I might have peaked by now and as it is I'm still making progress! Well done for starting - we'll help you continue!
Hi. I recently started this at the age of 60. And very unfit. In the early weeks it would have been very easy to give up. Those 90 second breathers were wonderful. I've just come back from Run 1 of Week 9. My first 30' nonstop. My breathing isn't great. My distance covered is not 5k (4.7k). But what an achievement I feel. I agree with the podcast tutor. It's building up endurance and stamina. Pace May come later? I don't really care. Keep going. It can be done. But read the encouragement on here and believe it. I couldn't have done it on my own.
Welcome. I am sure you will be fine and actually enjoy running even if not all runs. We are all here to support each other.

I am 59 and completed the 9 week programme mid August and am feeling very proud of myself and I am sure you too can get there too. I was very sceptical when I had completed W1 but hey I was very wrong. It really works and I have been able to carry on running despite at the beginning saying I was not bothered about carrying on... There is a little part of me wanting to attempt the 10K but maybe next summer as I don't want to run on a treadmill and with the British weather?!? ☺️

I too are nearer 60 than 50, Back in July when I started this I did not think i would be able to complete but after repeating weeks from week 4 I trusted the programme and Last night w7r2 thats RUNNING for 25 mins yes you can do it.
I'm right behind you doing my 3rd run in week 1 tomorrow........ Never fell stupid! I'm 51, have done the program before and graduated but then had long spell of no running so I decided to do the program again. This forum is great and lots of supportive people all battling various gremlins along the journey!
i'm 60 so age is no excuse (?). All my aches and pains have disappeared since I started the programme.
Hi welcome to C25K you have achieved so much already in finishing week 1. I am 52 and just starting w7. I can't believe I have got this far, 1 minute was such a struggle. Keep going and you will surprise yourself as we all feel such an achievement when we complete each week. Good luck as you progress and remember we are all here to encourage you
Congrats - it's so hard to start that first run and you did it! I'm 53' - overweight, unfit, with a dodgy back and ankles... At the end of week 1 I wasn't sure I'd make it any further Now just starting W6 and, having run for 20 mins, I've had to accept that it wasnmy head and not my body stopping me. The community has been brilliant - keep reading and posting - the support you get is truly amazing, and will see you all the way! X
Don't worry, I'm starting at 64 years having done zumba and dance, it's not so bad. I wanted some exercise that didn't stop and start and that I could control myself instead of all this term time stuff, I'm not a child, I don't need my life split into terms. The zumba instructor has gone off on holiday yet again, leaving us all to get lardy, so here goes .
I graduated on my 50 th birthday any one of any age can do this as you can take it at your own pace the important thing is that you are doing something! Well done
Well done for starting which is the hardest part 👏👏👏 Age is not an issue just determination. I am a similar age to you and feel better than I have for ages. Happy running 🏃👟
At this point what you look like matters not. If you are off the couch doing c25k then you are well on the way to fitness and better health. If you stick at it and keep running you will be amazed at how well you will look and feel. It's really a life saver ☺
