Week 2 Run 2 Done.

I am thoroughly enjoying this. Getting back into running after about 15 years is great. I'm old, over weight, my knees hurt, I get shin splints but nevertheless I'm determined to get on with it. When I lose the extra weight I am carrying the painful places will ease, I'm convinced of that.

My wife, who is doing it with me is an absolute trooper. She suffers from arthritis and is taking it all in her stride (pardon the pun).

We now have my daughter in law tagging along too which is great.

Well done - it's turning into a real family affair and that must be such fun. Good luck to all of you!

Well done!

Me & the wife did c25k at 60-61, so your not that old, there are others on here older. You and your wife will reap the benefits of your effort's.

You'll get a few niggles with minor aches & pains, which hopefully you can run through, just watch the shin splints though, if it is shin splints? Maybe they will fade as your body adjusts more to the running, if they don't and get worse you must stop and get attention, they can only be got rid of properly with rest which can take months.Make sure you have good running shoe's with adequate cushioning. You may only loose a small amount of weight, (it varies from person to person) if any while on the programme, for that to happen, keep well hydrated & a good diet is a must.. I don't calorie count, but watch portion size & restrict fats & sugars. Good luck!😊

I've always had a problem with shin splints, I struggled with it for 25 years when I was in the Army but I must have become more intolerant to pain as I've gotten older.

Its the walking bits I struggle with.

Wahay! That's great news! Glad it's going well. Take care. Slow but sure. See you on the towpath!

Don't forget it's the town's half marathon on Sun, 2 October. Turn out and watch it at a vantage point near you. I'm in it. I'll be the one wearing purple. To match me face!

We're away on a short holiday so we'll miss it. Good luck! Although I'm sure you don't need it.
