Holidays, term time, excuses excuses...

So it's something over a month since I last went for a run, what with holidays disturbing the normal weekly routine, then term time restarting and the corresponding exhaustion and chaos of trying to get the family back on track with all the usual activities etc. So yes, I've had lots of intentions which have for assorted reasons or excuses never quite come to fruition. Until today.

This was the evening. Snack before I left work so I wasn't too hungry to go running, nothing else on this evening, collect daughter no. 1, home, change, and out with daughter no. 2 accompanying me on her bike. I'd decided to go for week 5 run 1 on the basis that having completed week 7 in early August, I should still be able to manage 5 minutes, but more than that at once might be pushing my luck.

Off I went. Warm up walk fine :) , first run here we go. Ending on the uphil bit, but with my personal cheerleader encouraging me on, I made it! Success! If I can do one, I can do all three. Second run... Yup, gentle down, turn round, back up slight incline, all fine. Third run all downhill, yaaaaaaay! I'm back!

You know, I really do! :) So happy that I decided I'd had enough of making excuses. The Glow in the Park 5k is only a few weeks away now, and although I'm not going to be anywhere near able to run the whole thing (and nor will my daughters!), it's enou of an incentive at last to get me back out there. :)

I'm still making excuses (yes, I know they are excuses).

Got to "use up" the excuses,

and get back in-shape (Cardio & Breath).

As for the 5k, WHY NOT ??!!??

(more Excuses ??!!??)

CONGRATS !!

You are on a GREAT "Path" to recovery !!

See IF you can get your "Cheerleader" to come for more runs !!

(( You might be surprised at how much she "loves" helping

by being your personal "Cheerleader" !! ))

She really does enjoy it; sometimes she runs, but she also really enjoys cycling and doesn't often get a chance to go out on her bike, so this definitely works for us both! Might have to try it again tonight if she isn't too tired after PE today...

Yaaay, you never left ;) It's quite funny really, on the initial c25k experience, week 5 seems SO terrifying. Yet having read numerous posts when we've had time out for whatever reason, it's often the week of choice for a 'restart' or consolidation. Bet you'll be back to 'raring to go mode' by the time you need to be 'glowing' :)

Next run planned for tonight (and if I say it here it means I have to go!) ;)

And my long-distance film night with a friend which is arranged for next Tuesday is a late-ish start so that I have time to run first! :D I'm *going* to do this!
