Time for a Walk ๐Ÿšถ

So Wednesday was to be my first post grad run and the third run of my charity challenge....

Wednesday morning very early doors I was awoken by hubby being ill and shortly after that I was fully woken by myself being ill - bad case of food poisoning or some bug ๐Ÿ˜ฎWiped out for 2 days - Weds spent asleep most of the day running a fever blah blah - we've all been there

So after 2 days almost without food I thought I'd do a walk instead of attempting a run ๐Ÿ™„ (it all counts towards my charity miles) and I walked my usual running route

It was a weird experience as I walked it thinking "this is where I have to dig deep" and "oh I love this bit" and "oh that hill!"

But the BEST part was how fit I felt on the walk compared to how I used to feel before I started C25K ๐Ÿ˜€

I walked fast and my breathing remained steady and I had no shin or calf pain which I used to suffer from on walks terribly pre this programme and I really, really enjoyed it.

Oh the benefits keep on coming don't they? ๐Ÿ˜€

Felt really odd posting today as I had no Wx Rx to start the title line with โ˜น๏ธ

Sorry to hear you were ill, but glad you enjoyed your walk. The photo is lovely

The benefits are constant aren't they? I keep discovering little things that I can do now that I couldn't before. What a pain for both of you coming down with the dreaded "gastrointestinal infection" as your tag puts it! So glad it was over and cleared up quickly and you were able to walk your run route at least - and no shin or calf pain...bonus!

Dang those tags!! It is amazing - I was one of those sad people that had problems lacing up shoes or putting socks on - I'm no ballet dancer but at least I can do these simple things now without getting my body into weird contortions ๐Ÿ˜‚ TMI probably ๐Ÿ˜‚

I know what you mean! :) I was in a building yesterday where I had to climb five floors by stairs - it did not strike me until I was almost at the top that I was hardly breathing hard! What a joy! :) Hope your Tum is better soon :)

Sorry to hear you've been ill kate.

I understand about the 'not being on a program any more' feeling. Don't worry though there's lots of good things you can do now. Maybe consolidate your 30 mins for a bit with your own music. See how the more you do it, the easier it becomes. Check out new routes. Try a hill if you haven't tackled one yet. Try running naked!

Maybe a parkrun.

Then there's c25k + programs to do.

Then theres Bridge to 10k.

Happy running.๐Ÿ˜Š Your photo is lovely.

Yes! The benefits keep appearing. I only have one regret: why didn't I discover the joys of running earlier!? I know that ten years ago I had a newborn baby and a toddler on my hands, and that is probably why, but I haven't been feeling this comfortable in my body since I was 15.

Well done on your walk, any fresh air is better than non. Hope you're soon feeling well enough to run again.
