Hi
I have just completed week 7 and am wondering should i push myself to go faster - I think i am running around 3.2k, this includes warm up and warm down. I know I have come so far since day 1 but beginning to doubt that I can do this.

Hi Jazzi
Speed and distance isn't important at this stage, you are doing fine getting this far. This programme is all about building stamina and running legs, you can work on pace and distance after you've graduated if you wish.
The most important part is completing the runs, slow and steady is the way. Trying to improve pace can lead to injury as our body has to adapt to the increase demands placed upon it .
Don't worry, youre doing just great !
Keep going ! xxx
Thanks. I think I am seeing what others are doing and feel like I am not doing as well. I will start week 8 and keep to my pace and see how I am getting on. Thanks for your kind words. xx
Jazzi14 I know it is hard to look at what others are doing. Everyone here are at different stages of running, we are different weights and fitness. The program has one objective. That is to run to a certain time.
Don't see it as anything more than that. I didn't use any other tech, only the 5k app, until I finished the program and then I consolidated the 30 mins runs for a couple of weeks, then I got an app that looked at my distance and that was my next challenges, to get to 5k. Before that I didn't want to know.
These guys will support you through thick and thin. Read the posts here for inspiration, there is plenty of inspiration around here. Just don't compare yourself to anyone or judge yourself. You are doing great
What Hidden said. I didn't even look at distance on my progress. (I suppose that could have been the fact that for most of the time I was too exhausted!) Only now am I working on getting to the magic 5k.
Nah, stay slow! Going too fast for your in-the-making running legs could spell disaster. Slow running builds leg strength.
You want to complete the sessions, that's all. Keep things simple ☺
