Mind over muscles - Beat the Gremlins.

Just have just run for over 30 minutes again. Nothing too special about that probably but it was a lesson in how easy the gremlins can catch me out. On my first run through to week 8, I was so in awe of the little blighters, I could continue and reverted to week 4 to build the confidence back up. I tried a technique that may be useful to others who face a barrier at whatever stage of the journey they're at.

After the 5 minute warm up walk, I started the run and when Laura mentioned 5 minutes was up, I was convinced that 10 minutes would be my limit! I kept an eye on the time, ran through the 10 minutes and decided to run 1 minute at a time. After each minute I merely said to myself I can do just one more and by the time I'd been going for 20 minutes, I knew there'd be no problem.

By the time I'd completed the run, I again felt I could have gone on and on - Gremlins identified and splattered.
