This morning I have completed week 9! For those of you who kept me going you will know I've had injuries, and self doubt but you have all kept me motivated and I have done it!!

Nice sunny morning out early (not so early as usual) but off I went so excited to think I had nearly made it, started off at a nice steady pace, run past a man walking his dog who decide he wanted to run with me so I managed to get him off my leg and carry on.

Down the lane, careful round the horse manure in my path, down by the Quay, along the river, even decided to throw in some grass, this really seems to be my nemesis.

Onwards towards home, then I hear Laurs say 60 seconds, then finished....πŸ€—

I have struggled, it's not been easy, but I have kept going, and really look forward to my run now. This morning it was nice that other runners, walkers and cyclists said good morning, felt like a little community.

I am not fast but that will come in time I hope, but I managed 4K this morning, which is my best yet.

So to any newbies out there believe in yourself you can do it, I never thought at my age, and being overweight I could do this, but I have it took a little longer than 9 weeks but that doesn't matter, we all get there at our own pace.

One question I do have for those of you who have been graduated a long time, do you still do the 5 minute walks, I would prefer to just stretch well and get straight out especially in the mornings before work - advice please. Thank you

Happy running!!!!!!!πŸ‘πŸ‘ŸπŸ‘ŸπŸ‘ŸπŸ‘ŸπŸ˜Ž

Congratulations! I hope you are feeling really proud!

Maybe keep the walk going for now - it's important to be properly warmed up. Some people go for longer, some for less and some just do some dynamic stretches then go.

I personally still walk to get the heart rate up and the muscles warm. You'll work out what is right for you - but just take care to avoid injury.

Yay!! Really well done congratulations! I do still like my warm up walk and don't feel right not doing it. I'd agree with Ullyrunner & probably suggest keeping it for now. But try out what works best for you and enjoy! πŸ€“πŸ‘

Congratulations on graduating! Its such a great feeling isn't it? Re your question about warm up walks, I still warm up with just a few minutes walking (after stretching at home) but this is just what I find works best for me. Many don't do static stretches at all and there is much debate as to whether they are actually beneficial or not! I think it also depends on the time of day I run at, and what I have been doing prior to my run. it is for this reason, that I tend to run after work! I do think a warm up of some kind is better though, but that's just my humble opinion! Good luck in finding what works best for you.

Well done - I still do the walk most of the time as I find it takes me a while to get fully warmed up.

Congratulations and very well done, I hope you are proud of yourself for achieving this goal, we all know too well how hard the runs are. Speed don't matter it's stamina that counts and you've got it.

Wishing you many more happy runs.
