Thought I would say hello and take the opportunity of linking up with some support as I am sure its going to be needed. Started the C25K two weeks ago and just finished week 2 day 3 this morning. Have never run (or wanted to) or exercised much other than walking but suddenly I've got this desire to...who'd have thought! Can't believe I'll be able to cope with week 3 but then again thought that at the end of week 1! so... onwards and well hopefully not upwards but maybe onwards and onwards ...

Nice to meet you Beelady. Run slowly on week 3 and you will achieve it. The programme works- trust in it. You are right there will be lots of support here to help you along. Lots of us struggled with first 2 weeks but sounds like you have had a great start so I am sure you can make it. Keep posting so you can get support and answers to any questions. Your experience will inspire others too. Happy week 3 running after your rest day/s.☺
Well done for starting, you're a week ahead of me. It's great to hear that week 2 is doable. Keep going, am sure you can make it to week 9 having seen lots of people say "If I can..."
Welcome aboard Beelady! You are doing great already but if you should need any advise or just want to share your ups and downs of running - you have come to the right place.
You've been through some of THE toughest runs.. as very soon you will reolise as long as you are determined..and stay on the program as best you can.. each run..even each step is achievable!!
You are doing great in posting, reading this forum.. as its full of support..answers to any questions.. lots of people in front, behind.. graduates.. who like myself never ever thought we would manage.. but somehow.. together we all can..
Few more runs and you will already be nearing half way.. and raving to the newbies..it's so addictive!!
Well, welcone to the programme which looks so daunting but really is doable. As a 58 year old who had never run(and thought her body was not designed to do this weird thing) I also started with real trepidation. But, it does, it really does work. You have to accept that there will be tricky times and setbacks, maybe. But ! Although I am sceptical by nature, I have to say that this is just the best thought out programme for fitness and satisfaction out there. Look forward to hearing of your progress!
I am 52 and graduated some months ago now. I thought every week looked impossible and I ran very slowly which really helped me to get to week 9! Just relax, breathe deeply and slowly and nice and slow. If I can do it, you can too
I remember in week three reading all the posts about how the programme 'works' and thinking "but this is me, how can it work for me?" I really didn't believe it but I promise you its true! Onwards and onwards! You can definitely do this
I started when I was 61 a year ago. I run 2-3 times per week and live it. Not fast but it's made me more energised and feeling alive than anything else. Good luck!
