I am so pleased I found this forum - it's definitely is helping me think I might actually complete the programme. There’s a 5k/10k coming up in September near me – something I never thought would be my thing, but now I see it as a goal/(treat!) for my first week post-C25k.
I'm sure this has been discussed before, but should we treat each week as a literal week - or is it ok to run 3 days, alternating with 3 rest days before moving onto the next week stage on day 6?
Thank you

I make it day 7 , but yes that's fine and may suit you in these early stages. When the runs get longer, you may find you are grateful for the occasional extra rest day!
Horses for courses! Some people run alternating days throughout, others have a two-day rest once a week. If you're wanting to go alternate days, that should be fine, but as always, just be aware of any niggles and make sure you give them an extra day or two if needed...
Not quite sure I understand your pattern correctly, but if you mean running three days in a row, then I'm afraid most would say that is not a great idea, as you don't allow your body any recovery time. It is on the rest days that tissue and muscle repairs and become stronger. Ignore them at your peril! 😮 It is adviseable to have at least one rest day between runs, and many have two or three if they feel they need it sonetimes. Apologies if I have misunderstood your post...and good luck with that 5k race in September!🙂
Oh, duh!😳 Sorry! In that case - you're spot on! If one rest day is enough at this stage then of course it doesn't matter!! Sounds like it's going well, and never apologise for the enthusiasm - this is THE place to come with your enthusiasm! Good luck with Week 3🙂
You will complete it! It's great that you're so enthusiastic
Yes, as long as there is a rest day between each run it's fine. From about week 6 I needed two rest days in between runs to make sure my muscles weren't too sore but you may not need to at all.
