Meant to do an early start but ended going out at midday in 25 degree heat so choose a dappled forested route

My journey has been 6 weeks (1 week injured) so far. Had some fun runs and some toughies. But I am still moving through it and have completed another week. Yay!!

My calves still ache (is that normal still? I am overweight and very unfit ) and those gremlins still come and visit telling me to just quit and instead just lie down under the trees and relax with a glass of something cool 😑 (no I didn't give in )

Truth be known, I am scared of W5 especially R3 so I went back and read my first post (the one when I nearly died 😝) to remind myself that although it's tough I have come on and have run a total of 48 minutes (albeit intermittently with walking ) this week over the course of 3 runs.

The challenge for me now is that I have started this programme whilst in-between contracts so have run when I wanted. I start a new contract Monday so I am now going to have to find the motivation and time to run whilst working full time - haha - that will be a test - must remember to run before the glass of Pinot 😝

Couldn't have got here without you all - onwards and upwards x

Well done it doesn't matter how long it takes as long as we get there in the end luckily I have had no injuries or niggles and as I move on to week 7 will need to pace myself more than ever but as I said well done you can do this

I think most of us feel daunted by week 5 run 3 - it seems like a massive jump but in reality it fits in well the programme. Don't listen to the gremlins! You've come such a long way and you really can do it! 20 mins is a major milestone and we'll all be cheering you when you've done it!

You are doing great! I work full time and usually run after work - it's tiring but a great end to the working day. I look out my running clothes in the morning and try to go out as soon as I can after getting home . The main issue is that makes my tea very late as I need somehting quick to cook so I can eat soon afterwards so eat more snacks than proper food.

Well done on getting this far, congrats on the new contract!!

I work full time 8 - 5.30 at the moment and it took me a while to get my head round doing this running lark, but it's suddenly worked out to be run at night on Tuesday, Thursday and then either Saturday or Sunday depending on what we're doing. It works!! Tuesday and Thursday are run nights!!
