Can now walk easily after three weeks! Physio thinks it is something out of alignment in pelvis that made one leg longer than the other! I have done back exercises for two weeks now and ankle pain stopped at weekend - pain is now just a niggle in my other hip. But - my ankle still swells up every day, even after a short walk. It goes down completely overnight.
I can't understand why - any ideas? Am not due to see physio for another week but want to get into some decent walking again in prep for running but daren't at the moment. Can't help feeling GP route will be hopeless.

I had puffy ankle when I started C25k. I then injured it! It kept puffing up after runs but I decided to keep going as it wasn't painful once the injury was better. It was just something that got better on its own as I obviously got fitter, stronger and I lost weight. I don't have it these days, which is a relief ☺
Hopefully yours will too. Your physio is on the case with your pelvis, so accentuate the positive and look forward. I know the injury couch is a frustratingly boring, lonely place, but hang in there, things will get better.
Walking is a great cross training exercise and will help maintain your fitness while you sort out your other issue. You could try icing and elevation for your ankle as often as poss. Icing is great for inflammation!
I do hope you get sorted out soon. I know what you mean about the GP route 👀 (rolls eyes)
I too understand what you mean about GP route. I had a lot of trouble with swelling in my ankle after I broke it several years ago and the only thing that seemed to help was elevation but the leg has to be higher than the heart so I used to lay on the floor with feet on a chair for about 10 minutes. Looked ridiculous but it helped and I don't seem to have as much trouble now. I wondered if it might flare up when I started c25k but it hasn't.
