My new asics run plan told me to run a nice steady mile today at a 15 mins mile pace. So off I set. The pace was a little slow so I set it at 7.6km/h , much slower than usual. I hit the mile and was going steady so decided to see what I could do. Well I finally hit my 5km!!!
5km in 37 mins and 50 secs. Whoop! Whoop! I even sprinted the last 100m. Okay it was on the treadmill but I did set it ato 1% incline. If it weren't for the hideous pollen I would say I am ready for outside. It will happen soon I promise x

Well done! The run is the run. Personally, am coming to realise (according to my not perfect tech) that I may actually be running a bit faster(tho is all marginal) outside than in. Seems is to do with tolerance feeling of treadmill as opposed to fresh air etc in spite of inclines. Well, that is what I have read. Anyway, the point is the progress, yes? So celebrate!
Wow mega fast! Have been investifpgating this 5 k speed thing after reading lots of graduate postings. Interesting.
I did all my 5k training indoors. When I graduated I did my first 5k parkrun. It eas tough, due to wind, sun, being overdressed and the pressure not to be last, but I did it. 43 mins ish. Well done on your achievement to date. Have you tried vaseline in your nostrils for pollen xx
