...I can't believe it! I managed week 5 run 3, 20 minutes solid running!!! Yay, woohoo, yippeeee, whoop whoop whoop (imagine fist pumping the air!!) When I look back at my first post, when I had struggled so much on week 1, I could never have imagined getting to this point, so all you week 1'ers, stick with it, listen to the fab advice of the people on here and believe it will get easier. Raring to go onto week 6 now, I hear that's a tough one....

Anyway, here's how the run went....first 8 mins were ok, felt I could get through as I'd done that before. 8-10 mins were hard, everything started tightening up and I felt like my legs would stop working but something amazing happened when I hit 10 mins, everything just fell into place, legs loosened up, breathing became natural and I felt brilliant...then I hit 18 mins, I'm not gonna lie, those last 2 mins were tough!!

Sitting at home now though, feeling great, rewarded myself by rubbing in my 'dreamy legs' leg oil which I had been saving for this run and has left my legs feeling lovely and light and zingy...all this before 8.30am so now have the rest of the day to enjoy with my family.

Have a happy Saturday everyone!

Well! What a lovely, inspiring post to start the day with. Good for you Letti! I'll have a whoop whoop along with you. It's a great feeling isn't it. Nothing quite like it as the realisation hits you that you nailed it. You found your running legs!!!!!!!! It's happened. A great moment indeed. They were there all the time, lurking and waiting for the planets to align and all that jazz.

Ooooh "Dreamy Legs" I think I'll have to get some o' that!

So, Week 6 is up next! No worries, it's just a bit wierd, that's all I'm saying. You'll do it. You have your running legs (now dreamy legs), you've followed Laura's wise words, you have the enthusiasm and you'll do it. Come and tell us when you do!

Hey Lettiree ! Well done ! I can feel the joy pouring out of your post ha ha :-)

From a couple of minutes running to 20 minutes non stop , who'dve thought when we took those first couple of steps :-)

Week 6 is back to the running/walking intervals and is a bit of a tricky one, but completely do-able , just seems to catch some people unawares, but deep breaths , you can do it ! :-)

So Week 5 Run 3 done and dusted all by 8.30 am , enjoy the rest of your day ! :-) xxx

Oh and a tickle on the tummy for Ember :-) xxx

Thank you for all your encouragement poppypug and thanks for Ember's tummy tickles, he enjoys his tummy being tickled very much. Give those l'il pugs tickles from us :) x

Dreamy Legs is wonderful, a bit expensive which is why I save it as a special reward but a little does go a long way. You can get it here...

That's it. The biggest mental hurdle in the whole programme is behind you. Congratulations. I bet you can't wait to get back out there and run again!

Well done you. That's a big milestone in the c25k and I can remember that feeling on completing a whole 20 minutes of running in one go. Great achievement. You are well on your way now to cracking the c25k. Good luck :)

Fantastic post, you sound elated and set up for a brilliant day. I think we can all feel your buzzing emotions through your words.....excellent. Week 6 can be tricky, I certainly found it so, but just remember slow and steady is the way to go.

Happy running.

Thanks everybody, your encouragement really is appreciated. I think I would have given up long ago if I hadn't been able to read such motivational posts and gain valuable advice from the people on this forum. Hope I can join you all and earn my graduation badge in time x

Hi That is fantastic!! A really big milestone over and done with!! You know what you are capable of and more!! Stick with it, be proud and enjoy you new found running legs!! They are going to take you places!! Literally! Not long to go now! A tip: if you were running in old shoes, this is probably the time to get a gait analysis and buy some trainers. Your runs will now be long enough to warrant it. Good luck with the rest of the training! Whoop Whoop! x

Thank you for the advice Carole, I think I will have to do that now I know I'm going to keep it up! I have been struggling with a sore big toe (honestly, with all the things I could hurt, it's my toe!! hehe) so I do think some new trainers maybe needed!

Oh yes, good suggestion KittyKat, I hadn't thought of that as I hold it to ransom and only let myself have it as a reward as I love the feel on already tired legs :) but I bet it would feel pretty good before a run too as long a the zinginess doesn't put you off your stride :)
