Not using the F-word

I was totally ready for WK5R3 this morning but my husband wasn't. We ran for about 10 minutes and his shins really started to hurt. I really wanted to leave him for dust and push on for the 20 minute run .... but reminded myself that this is a long term thing for us, he needed my support and there is no such word as failure.

So we'll be getting him some better shoes, doing more stretches for the warm up and doing WK5R3 next week.

Ps I'm still really proud of the progress we've made!!

Yep, just one to be filed under "s**t happens"

Sounds like you will be just fine and hubby will benefit from the noo shoos.

What an awesome running partner you are! You are so ready, and should definitely be proud of what you have achieved. Save that positivity for next time, you'll nail it x

Thanks Feelingsilly, that means a lot to me 😊 Onwards and upwards!

Very admirable 😊looking after ourselves or OH is the important thing.

Both of you should be very proud, you have done so well.

Hope hubby is recovered soon and of course enjoys his new shoes, pics are obligatory by the way 😊

Thanks Rob!

Sounds like you both made a wise decision. Better to postpone that end up on IC and frustrated. You'll be even stronger too as you know you were already half way there and still feeling good. Hope he recovers and finds better shoes.

How lovely you are; very supportive and I'm sure hubby appreciated it x

Does he know he now has to repay you by doing all the housework for the next week? Lol

Enjoy the shopping for new running shoes x

LOL - I'll let him know!!

As someone that pushed through that 20 min run about a year back now even though my inner thigh was niggling me to start with and damn painful for the last minute I can assure you that you made the right call. I've had to had about 6 months of very limited jogging to allow my thigh time to heal and started on week 3 again today!!

Good luck for when you're both ready 😀

You're a team and it's great that you both support each other. You know now that you will be able to run 20 mins, now you need to pep up hubby. Running together after graduation will be brilliant as well!

I run with my other half too and he has had some struggles through the programme, as have I, but we have decided to stick together and not complete it separately. After all it's a long term thing like you say 😀
