Proper squats

Hmmm, must be rig embedding squats in my mind! He has a lot to answer for! all good of course!๐Ÿ˜ but I put this in a reply to a member with knee pain, so thought I'd put this video clip on of how to do proper squats, as so many are mentioning aches and pains in the lower limbs when starting to run, always make sure you've warmed up though๐Ÿ˜Š

  • They don't look like that when I do them!!

  • I read somewhere that static stretching before a run is not helpful but dynamic stretching is. I do some lunges before as my fear is for my knees and ankles and I really believe it helps as the one and only time I had a problematic twinge (now touches head superstitiously) was when in the heady excitement/ anxiety of that 20 mins run in week five, I forgot to do them before heading out. Squats are also really great though!

  • Thanks :) Haven't been consciously tightening my abs or paying attention to whether my shoulders roll forwards. Won't be attempting any of the variations to intensify them

    though ! Simple squats are still hefty exercises for me.
