Thank you Slinky .......... I'm so glad someone understands my pain
what's great about this programme is that I have learnt
1. to listen to my body
2. I can run for over 30 mins
3. I'm not beating myself up over having a cold
in Buddhism we talk about a balance of happiness i.e the ideal is that we are physically mentally and spiritually happy, sounds easy much more difficult to achieve that to type having said that I am happy in this moment.
good luck with your programme I look forward to your graduation
Nick, give yourself plenty of time to recover and set up the conditions for your grad run to be memorable for all the right reasons. My impatience led me to do it as a Friday evening slog after a hard week at work, whereas waiting until the Saturday morning would have made a lot more sense.
Isn't that just the most perfect timing?! Your legs will be stronger after the rest, take it easy and maybe use the time to think about your post grad running and what you might like to do running-wise longer term. We're all looking forward to your grad post. You'll smash it when the time comes.
A "man flu"... so that means you sneezed once and your temperature is 37.1 Celsius, right? I think if you are extremely cautios and you don't overdo it, you can still run and survive to tell it... XP
Enjoy your PJ's; the world will still be out there tomorrow, ready for your run.
Yes - you're right to rest. I once made the mistake of thinking a run would make me feel better and clear my nose. I totally ignored the kind people who advised me against it. Two minutes in I was feeling a proper smarty pants as my nose was clear for the first time that day. I felt 'magic' up to 3k. Then I crashed and burnt. I felt totally whacked and rubbish and had to drag myself home. You get yourself comfy in those PJs and rest up. Get well soon. Good luck for that graduation run
