Brand New..

Hey all, I'm Chris and I'm from Southampton, England. I used to be quite fit but a desk job and a serious issue with Chocolate Digestives has somewhat changed that ;) Looking to get back in to Fitness and rather than waste £30.00+ a month at the gym thought I would give this a go! Happy to friend anyone else who wants to track their progress with me!

Well, you might just surprise yourself there, Chris.

C25k not only works but for many running becomes an addiction to far outdo Chocolate Digestives.

Welcome and good luck, keep us posted.

I have to confess that I've eaten a whole pack of Jaffa Cakes within an hour, before now. Not just once, but twice.

I say hour, I mean half hour. I say twice... :)

Glad to see you are joining us. You have some lovely places to run down there. Keep posting your progress and reading other people's posts, it really helps. As for the gym membership I guess that could mean £30 more to spend on chocolate digestives! Funnily enough just ate a sneaky one myself before logging on. The danger is that my mental processes told me that as I had ran 5k this evening I deserved it! That's dangerous territory!

Hi Chris! Good luck with it, you've made a great decision - best thing I've done for my health in years and I would definitely go so far as to say 'life-changing'! I'm originally from Winchester so know Southampton well :) Now live near Salisbury though!

I'm still partial to many a chocolate digestive though!

Welcome to the community!

The only problem related to chocolate digestives I can think of is running out of them; you can avoid it by preventively stocking your pantry. :D

My dad has a bar of choc job jobs ( oops predicted text, thats hobnobs!) on his coffee table every time i pop round😕hard to resist!

Welcome to the forum Chris, I'm on the lOW ! Lots of good races in the south, you'll be getting the running bug I'm sure! We did a good one at the ageas bowl stadium in september last year!

Good luck you'll be fine if you follow the programme!😊

Hi Chris...welcome to one of the best things ever..

You are in the right place to ditch the CDs and get fit.

I don't like CDs. I don't like chocolate...or Jaffa cakes... or Jammie dodgers, sorry poppypug , ... but... I do like cheese, strawberries and champagne!!!!

Start posting, keep posting, and we will encourage, sympathise, shove, and support you all the way :)

You will however, as my friends say, become totally hooked :)

Thanks for all your kind words people :) the hardest thing right now is dealing with a 7.5 month pregnant fiancée who just craves chocolate and is still an absolute twig! Hahaha 😁

When I was a lard arse, biscuits were my fave food. I used to shovel those big biccies covered in thick choc down my neck like they were going out of fashion. Can't even remember what they're called now as it's been so long since I saw one. Gave em up and now I don't bother with them. They don't call out to me any longer

It can be done!

Get running and you'll lose the spare tyre. You have to keep doing it though! Slow but sure is the mantra. 9 weeks takes no time at all in the scheme of things, but it's all it takes to transform your life.

I sound all evangelical don't I, but it works! it's FUN too!

Well, 1 hour and counting till my first Run.. Had a decent protein load of eggs and a few pints of water this morning to keep myself hydrated... Let's do this!
