Good start to W5

Hi, just got run 1 under my belt and happy to say it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. Having said that, it definitely felt like a step up. Muscles in my calves now feel like steel ropes! 💪😊

Make sure you stretch! I'm at the same point as you, completed W5R1 yesterday. Give yourself an extra day to recover too if you still feel tight. You don't want to pull a muscle and have to sit out for weeks! The next run is basically the same amount of running just set up differently. We can do it!

Will do my stretches, probably some Pilates later. Feeling very positive so hope it lasts. We CAN do it !

Never tried it myself, but people often talk of using a foam roller (or rolling pin) to ease calf muscles. Could be worth looking into???

Well done... take your rest day and do some strength and flex exercises too... massaging your calves could help :)

I am about to do my first run tonight! Feeling very self conscious but determined. Have never run before (only tried treadmill a few times at home and didn't have motivation to keep it up). I have a lot of weight to lose so I have to try something. Congratulations on your first run :)
