After my treadmill mishap decided it might be safer running outside after all so ran up through the farm. A chap running the other way raised a hand in greeting and I was ridiculously pleased. He thought I was another runner.... Who'd have thought ?!

You are a runner... well done!
Onwards and upwards... getting outside is amazing... so much happening out there!
I know Laura hasn't said you are a runner yet but you are. You are outside, in running shoes, propelling yourself along using your own energy. Sounds like a runner to me! Keep going 👍
Well done Lalee! That's the spirit. Those country runs, where something new is always happening - usually with the wildlife - are lovely and invigorating. Enjoy yourself
That's lovely and very encouraging.
I was deeply unimpressed yesterday to be ignored by one runner and the other I don't think would have acknowledged me without my "Hello" I passed the first one on the return leg and did get at least a twitch of the eyebrows by way of recognition, so perhaps he recognised he'd been an up himself arse earlier. All the walkers and cyclists I passed going in the opposite direction said hello (less so if they were overtaking me or I them, so face contact seems to be relevant)
Runners run and you're running so you're a runner It's great when people aknowledge you - makes you feel part of the club - but don't worry if they don't acknowledge you - sometimes they just don't have the energy to form the words
Well done getting so far - keep at it.
A friendly smile, or a wave does wonders for your morale especially when you feel a fraud for being out in sports gear, but it won't be long till you see yourself as a runner, the same as others see you now.
Well done. I usually run on the treadmill but decided to run outside for the first time last week, don't know about you but I found the time seemed to go quicker and I enjoyed it more.
I'm totally with you there. I needed to use the treadmill to start with for building some confidence but now I find I don't actually like it. It's the timer... I get fixated on how long to go and then the little voice of doom starts up.... When I'm outside I just run and enjoy the scenery and time does seem to pass more swiftly. Add to all that that I fell off it....which was somewhat embarrassing!
Next time you're using a treadmill, try Shivani05 trick, put a towel over the display so you can't see the display! It works for her.
