I ran my graduation run at the weekend. Yay! I decided to go for a trail run and found some of the most stunning scenery... all so different as well.

The countryside on our doorstep is so beautiful, I think trail running is going to be a major part of my future.

Where's your favourite place to run?

Congratulations on your graduation. Where's your badge? Get it from the link on the right.

Those are lovely photos and make you want to explore. I have so many favourite places to run but they're all off road and on holidays beside the sea, oh and in Venice once! That was fab. But probably my most favourite place is a little forest close to home. As soon as I come to it I go "aaaahhh. Bliss".

Venice eh? Can you run on water? :D

Now off to claim my badge...

Sounds like a great graduation run! Well done. Trails are where my heart lies too❤ - you can't beat running in the countryside, through woodlands, fields and muddy trails! Definitely the way to go and great for strengthening your legs too! Good luck☺

Thank you!

Those bluebells were amazing. A little wilted, but still took my breath away.

I love your icon! Is that one of your pets?

No, although we had guinea pigs up until last year. It's a picture from a calendar of sporting guinea pigs! Such cute pets ☺

Stunning.... go you.. out there and doing it, in the most beautiful scenery!!!

My favourite, the field and tracks near where I live.. Rookery wood,,, the steam railway line and the hidden lakes ... bliss!

Thanks!

Can you run along the railway line? I guess it'd be pretty level.

Oldfloss profile image
OldflossAdministratorGraduate in reply tomoleymoleymoley

Nope.. the supports for the steam railway stick out.. I would be hopping like a rabbit! But the field tracks are flattish in parts... I am just embracing the hills!

Congratulations! I've diverted more into the woods when it's warmer, but I'm constantly looking at the map to get new routes. I'm no good on pavements, too tough on the legs, so jumping over ditches etc is also my future!

Thanks!

Yes, I'm very much a grass/mud runner too. Pavements hurt.

Absolute favourite? Curbar Gap, White Edge back along Froggatt and Curbar Edges. The run that inspired me to run, and three years after starting C25K I did it.

But I also like a bit of Forestry Commission woodland near me... not the loveliest, especially given how blessed I am in where I live, but it is where I did a lot of C25K runs, it has plenty of mud and and winding woodland paths, and criss crossing tracks so the route is never the same twice, the dog can be off lead... and it brings back such amazing memories of hope and achievement.

Curbar Gap... Had to Google it, but when I did, I realised I've been there. About 30 years ago! Stunning as I remember it.

There's some Forestry Commission woodland near me, but it's all coniferous, just a bit dark and foreboding. We're very lucky to have a lot of deciduous woods, littered with pathways made by both deer and humans. Lovely.

Gorgeous photos, I love this time of year, everything is just bursting into life .

I love running in woods when I get the chance , mainly at weekends. Mind you I did end up doing a couple of laps around Asda's carpark last week just to get my distance in . Ha ha ! :-D xxx

Hahaha! A few laps round the fresh fruit and veg section could make you feel like you were in the countryside...
