... OK, so the link bait worked and you are reading this ;-).
I missed my last two runs due to work issues and I am really surprised at the (negative) impact it has had. It is currently drizzling, a really miserable 'can't be bothered to rain properly' type affair. It has been doing this all day so the field is going to be really soggy and mucky - sigh.
However, I need to run. I mean I _need_ to run. After not running for 4 days I feel really lethargic, blue, un-motivated and generally a bit blah.
The last time I felt like this was when I had a 2 week break due to illness between week 5 day 2 and day 3.
I am genuinely taken aback by how much not running has affected me. The negative part of running (the pain, the tight shorts etc.) all fade into insignificance compared to this.
So, if you are looking out and thinking 'nah, it is XYZ' (where XYZ is your go-to get out clause) then maybe think again - the effects of not running aren't trivial.
On the other hand, I am really chuffed in a weird way because I have wanted to _be_ a runner for so long and this is probably the biggest confirmation that I am. Albeit a bit of a grumpy blue one ATM :-).
It is true - 'a slow 5K every other day keeps the blues away' - and eat an apple and visit the dentist - or something like that.
Will let you know how the run goes later.
(and sorry about the awful link bait title)
