Lurgy :-(

I caught some god awful lurgy, I can't stay upright for too long and I have to go lay down, and the stomach cramps are crazy bad.

Was due to start week 7, how long before I can run again....can I try now or do I have to wait til I at least feel semi human?

Can you tell I really, really want to run? Am I normal? Do runners run with running noses?

If you can't stay upright for long, I hardly think that running would be a good idea at the mo! We can't have you keeling over mid run. Take time to get better. Running is for life - this is just a little blip.

Thanks Ullyrunner, I know I'm being silly...was getting into a nice running pattern and feeling good then Bam! wiped out by some god awful bug.

It sucks but you need to get better first.  I've been out of action for over a week with a nasty cold and chest infection but I finally feel well enough to start again tomorrow.  There is no point making yourself ill, your next run will be waiting for you when you are ready.  It's really frustrating though, especially when you feel like you've got into a rhythm.  Get well soon x

Thank you barmybint (love the username!) it does suck. I'm going to wait til the weekend and see how I feel. I wanted to do my graduation run before my birthday but it's now not going to be.

Good luck for tomorrow, hope it goes well xx

Yes you can if from the neck up and feel OK with just the sniffles, No if from neck down such as chest infection..think you have a bit more than just sniffles! So don't worry, rest up, running will still be there when your ready!😊

Staying upright really is something of a prerequisite of a run. Otherwise it's called 'a crawl'.

So to come back to your question: "I am really poorly, can I go for a 25 minute crawl?"

No is the answer. No, you can not.

I had some weird bug over the weekend and am going to wait until the end of the week to get back out there.  Give your body the time it needs to recover.  Frustrating though isn't it!

Very frustrating indeed lisarose! Chest and above stomach hurt, have some lovely large glands too. Have no idea what type of bug it was.

Thanks to all the replies, and the support :-)

I agree with all the advice.  No running until you feel well.  Hope you feel better soon
