W3R1: OMG I ran for 3 minutes without stopping! 😱

Can't believe I just completed week 3 run 1. This was the run I was sure I wouldn't complete first time as it involves 2 x 3 min runs. I managed both! Was just about dying by the end of the second one but now I'm buzzing!

i tried my hardest to put myself off on my way home from work - "it's been a long day, I'm really tired, it's far too cold to run" etc. but I'm so glad I did.

Was I the only one to find it weird that the podcast is actually shorter this week than last week though? Ended up not planning my run very well and having to do about a 10 minute warm down walk, as I was expecting to cover at least the same distance as last week if not a little bit more. Maybe that's just my naivety, I sort of expected to need to slightly increase the distance each week to accommodate the fact that you're running more and walking less? Not that I really care at the moment!πŸ˜„

Well done. You are doing fantastic. I have paid absolutely no attention to distance at all. I just head out and then turn round and go back when she says I am halfway. 😊

I'm only noticing distance because I ran exactly the same route as I ran on W2R3. I just ran out of podcast quicker!

Hi! I am halfway through week 3 too, and was a bit flummoxed by the distance and only a 3 minute warm down walk! I think the programme has a clever balance of increasing time spent running continuously with extending distance. I felt I could have done an extra 90 second or 3 min run at the end of W3R2, but I guess we have to trust the programme! I have had shin splints in the past from doing too much too quickly, and having stuck with this programme I haven't had a twinge! Good luck with the rest of the week, and see you on the other side (week 4!!).

If you think 3 minutes non-stop is amazing, just wait til you get to 5, then 10, then 20 , then. 30!

BEST feeling in the world!Β

Keep up the good work πŸƒ

Well done! Β Three minutes is so fab! I got confused by the shorter warm down walk at the end and also ended up much further from home the first time! Β  It is a shorter podcast than earlier. I'm on week 4 and it's longer with s 5 min walk again at the end.Β
