Week 7 Run 2...and a pesky ankle.

Completed run 2 today but suffered the same foot pain after running. Currently on the couch with a bag of sweetcorn (glamorous!) on my foot so I'm going to have to leave it at least a few days now before running again. I know it makes sense to wait as long as is needed, but it is so frustrating! Anyway, I've come this far so a little break isn't the end of the world...

You've built up your stamina now and a few days rest won't do any harm. Best get fit again before the next run (easier said than done though). Good luck!

Thanks everyone. There'll be lots of swimming and strength training at this end to tide me over until I can get back out there. Thinking of paying a visit to a specialist running shop here in Leicester to upgrade to shoes that might help with my ridiculously high instep too. I appreciate the responses x

Very frustrating I know , but youre doing the right thing by resting. I had foot pain on and off when I did the programme. Always my left foot and my ankle used to puff up.

Hopefully its just one of those niggly things and it will clear up after a rest .

Hang on in there, this too shall pass xxx

Sorry to hear that, celtprof. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I've had to take an enforced break too, just been busy, it is frustrating though! But, I'm wondering what I'll do after graduation, I guess there's no rush, take the time to heal 💃

Thanks Pam. It's made me realise that I have been well and truly bitten by the running bug.

Celtprof I hope you're making a speedy recovery I took a few days break over easter I couldn't get the time to fit it in but started again yesterday. I know it's not the same but I did feel better after a break we just need to listen to our bodies.

Best wishes 😀
