Week 3 complete

Hi there. New to this part of HealthUnlocked. Just completed week 3 of C25k. Lovely sunny Easter Monday but there was a real chill wind and still some snow on hills and mountains around us. Left knee was a bit niggly in final 3 minutes of run but made it and feel good for it. It will be Thursday now before I can get out again but it looks like that will be a sunny one to spur me on. Week 4 here I come.

Well done 😊 Take your time and you'll be fine

Thanks. Can I ask how you found the 1/2 marathon? I've done 10K's before but had to take a break last year due to illness and losing my running mojo so I'm trying to build back up again. Always wanted to do a 1/2 but not sure if it's a step too far. Also would want to lose some weight before attempting it.

Excellent! The weeks will fly by. If you are anything like me, you'll be amazed and really proud of your progress. This forum is fab as we all get how hard it is and are happy to encourage and advise. Good luck!

Thanks Celtproof. I noticed how positive everyone is. I know I can get back to fitness again but right now it does seem a long way off so all this support is great.

You're doing great! It's a great feeling on week 3 when you think I'm actually doing this!

Thanks ScoobyDavid. Yes so good to see another week ticked off and a bit scary to see what's in store for week 4!

A half marathon is a challenge I have to say, and I've only done it the once!  I did get injured last year so everything was shelved.  I've not ruled out doing another one and am getting back to fitness as I lost so much time last year which I have to make up.  I am 58 so things take longer to heal I suppose.

If you train properly for it then you'd be ok. I am training carefully for a 10 mile at the moment. A half would not be much more than that so .......

Thanks. I'll get myself through c25k first and move back to 10ks and see what my times like first. Good luck with your training.
